an article I read beggingin to end is: 'Im being penalized for living too long'
by: Lolly Bowean
about:
A football player that got injured in highschool and got him paralized since the injury. He was given many benefits and other comforts such as nurses at home, medication at hand an other. Unfortunately just as everything, it came to an end. The insurance was not willing to keep up with him since now he is not able to pay off the price for the care.

a few lines from the story: "i was told i'd be taken care of all of my life. That was one thing that brought me comfort" -Rasul "Rocky" Clark

my response: This is an interesting topic, it automatically caught my attention as i was surpassing the paper. It was pretty catchy how the reporter caught my eye with the heading.

PLAYBOY
Hugh Hefner likes Steinmetz paper!
The day Hugh Hefner came to Steinmetz was a complete success. It was such a great day that the Steinmetz Star Staff decided to hold a paper with the majority of the paper to be about Hugh Hefner to then send it and wait to see if a response would be sent back. After sending the paper, Mrs. Sharon Schmidt announced to her students how Hefner had sent a response. After reading the letter we found out that Hefner was gladly to contribute to school scholarships but then he decided that he'd prefer to "help the Steinmetz Staff because i know how important a regularly published school paper can be for all the students" as quoted by Hugh Hefner.
Personally i think that this was a great moment and hope that we get another response from Mr Hefner!

Making the Interview Work!

3 things that are important in interviewing:
  • Listening to the person's response
  • Being friendly
  • Taking notes

2 things you will try in the future:

  • Try to make more observations on their actions
  • Come up with a way in which i would be able to keep up with the speaker and jot down the important details

1 thing you thought sounded silly/stupid/unnecessary (Pg 99)

  • Why necessary put the section on asking questions? This section is unnecessary because evidently you are asking questions because you're interviewing a person.
